Pickleball with Paul
Why Play with Paul?
Paul is a PPR certified coach. PPR stands for the Professional Pickleball Registry, and is the official partner of US Pickleball. Certification requires completion of both a practical and theoretical course. The practical portion involves a comprehensive analysis of strokes, quality of play, as well as an instructor supervising a lesson that you give. Paul follows the PPR format of open-close-open style of instruction. This style allows an opportunity to observe student's existing strengths and weaknesses, demonstration or a skill, drilling of that skill, and opening that skill back to be incorporated into game play. Paul has a passion for pickleball and loves helping his students' games develop.
Why Pickleball?
Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in America. Celebrities such as LeBron James, Tom Brady, Kevin Durant, and Rob Gronkowski love to play it, and are eager to earn teams. As you play pickleball you will feel embraced by a community of enthusiasts from the casual rec player, to the weekend warrior, to the die hard "can't-get-enougher's" like myself. I love that anyone can pick it up, and feel success. My mission is to help beginners find the joy of the sport, aid weekend warriors in buttressing their weaknesses, and honing their weapons, work with couples and partners to develop strategy and synergy, and finally to train advanced players in reaching their goals to become tournament crushers. Are you ready to get started?
MY STORY
It Keeps Getting Better
My friend convinced his neighbor to put in a pickleball court over his basketball court, and everyone in the neighborhood began playing. We came from diverse sport and racquet backgrounds. From the first smash I was hooked. As a life long tennis singles player, I had never spent much time studying partner play, and my point construction at the net was weak. After the first time playing pickleball, I spent every waking hour I wasn't playing and working, devouring videos, reading literature and scheming about strategies to get better and become the best I can be. The game is addicting, but what holds me here is the community. I have been welcomed and encouraged from the first day I ventured onto the the Frothingham, Easton Courts and was patiently taught positioning by Vinnie, to the next step where I found the beautiful Sharon courts and was welcomed by Jack and Pauline who had poured out their blood and sweat to spearhead bringing the courts, to finding a group of highly competitive men and women like Jordan, Lorraine, LeeAnn, and Mary, and finally to the opportunity to work with Mass Premier lining their courts, beginning their program, and running their clinics. It has truly been a whirlwind, but one in which I am eager to help others catch a glimpse of what awaits them on the pickleball court
